A double rise at the area of licensed projects was recorded during nine months of the year, in accordance with elements that were published by the Statistical Service, indicating that construction activity growth is expected in the following period.
The area of licensed project was increased by 14% in the period of January until September 2015 that reached to 658,4 thousand square meters at the corresponding period of 2014. A rise was noted in all the provinces.
The construction licenses considered a fine indication of future construction activity.
In Famagusta, a biggest rise was illustrated while the area of licensed project increased by 62,6% in 41,3 thousand square meters from 25,4 thousand square meters in the first eleven months of 2014.
A rise of 19,5 % was noted in Limassol with the area reaching to 185 thousand squares meters compared to 154,7 thousand square meters in the corresponding last year period.
In Nicosia, the area of licensed project in the period of January until September 2015 reached to 204, 8 thousand square meters from 175, 3 thousand square meters reached a rise by 16,8%.
A smaller rise by 2,3 % was recorded in Larnaca where the area reached to 99,1 thousand square meters comparing to 96,9 thousand square meters at the corresponding period f 2014.
In Paphos a rise of 5,6 % was recorded while the area of licensed projects reached to 128, 2 thousand square meters from 121, 4 thousand square meters.
The number of dwelling units increased by 5,6 % when compared to last year.
An expectation of the construction of 2. 397 dwelling units compared to 2. 082 the corresponding last year period is expected with the building permits.
The value of licensed project in the period of January until September increased by 19,1 % while reaching to € 764,1 from € 641, 3 the corresponding period of 2014.
During the period of January until September 2015 issued 3, 693 construction licenses comparing with 3.714 of the corresponding period of last year.
